Filmed over two nights, Peter Gabriel's March 2011 gigs at the intimate HMV Apollo saw him collaborate with the 46-strong New Blood Orchestra. The nights featured a handful of cover versions from last year's Scratch My Back project (Radiohead and Arcade Fire) however New Blood's primary task was to present Peter's songs in an orchestral setting, culled from right across his solo career and including classics such as Sledgehammer and Biko. Dispensing with the traditional weapons of the rock armoury - no guitar, bass or drums - the lyrics were exposed and laid bare, often taking new meaning with the passing of the years.
