Can't wait for Beaver Nation Live tonight (7:05-8pm PT)! Baseball Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn will join me. Gwynn is in his 11th season as the head baseball coach at San Diego State University, and his team hosts the Oregon State Beavers for 4 games this week (Thurs-Sun).  We'll discuss his Aztecs' team, his MLB career, his induction into the Hall of Fame, and his battles with cancer. It's must-hear radio, so don't miss it!

I'll also be joined by OSU baseball coach Pat Casey, who'll phone in from San Diego.  You can hear the (4-0) Beavers and the (3-0) Aztecs on the Home of the baseball Beavers, Fox Sports Radio 620.

And don't look for Wesley Matthews to be in the lineup Friday when the Blazers play the Lakers at the Staples Center. He hasn't practiced since returning from the All-Star Break, and Wesley says he won't practice tomorrow.  He's being called a "Game-time decision", but I rather doubt we'll see him in uniform.   Wesley is a "gamer" and will play if he can, but I have my doubts about him being healthy enough to give it a go.

The NBA trading deadline is tomorrow. I know a lot of people expect the Blazers to make a move -- possibly JJ Hickson who has has a good season.  However, I don't think the Blazers will make a deal.  Hickson can be signed as a free agent after the season, so I doubt teams would give up much to get him now (just remember he was released by Sacramento last season).  The Blazers won't part with Aldridge or Lillard, and Batum's also been considered a cornerstone of the franchise.  Even if the Blazers were inclined to make a deal, the injuries to Batum and Matthews likely have a negative impact on their trade value.  And the bench.. well, I personally like some of the guys, but there is very little trade value for any bench player.  Therefore, I think the Blazers will look pretty much the same when they play in L.A. Friday night.

I'm hosting a "Watch Party" at Big Al's in Vancouver Friday night, so come watch the game with me!
